SUNDAY, 01 JUNE 2008
HO CHI MINH CITY - HUE  (Lunch/Dinner)
Please be ready to check in at Saigon airport (2 hours prior departing) for VN250 (07:00hr – 08:20hr). Tickets will be delivered to every participant upon arrival at Ho Chi Minh city on 28, May, 2008

MORNING (8:20hr):
Arrive at Phu Bai airport, an Asian Trails tour guide will be there to welcome and transfer you to Hue city for a boat trip to Thien Mu pagoda, followed by a trip to the Imperial Citadel.

Lunch will be at the Ancient Hue Restaurant, built according to traditional Vietnamese architecture.

Check in your hotel at Grand Mercure La Residence & Spa (Superior Rooms).

AFTERNOON:
In the afternoon, visit to the Imperial Tomb of King Tu Duc and King Khai Dinh
Dinner and accommodation at Grand Mercure La Residence & Spa.
 
MONDAY, 02 JUNE 2008
HUE – DANANG  (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
MORNING:
Breakfast at the hotel after which participants will have some free time before the transfer to Danang city.

Lunch at the Blue Whale Restaurant or similar.

AFTERNOON:
After the lunch, a visit to the ‘Cham’ Museum with many sculptures and statues from the ancient Champa Kingdom, which dominated Central Vietnam 800 years ago. Quick stop at the Marble Mountains before heading to the Furama Resort for check-in. Rest of afternoon free at leisure to enjoy the hotels facilities and the splendid beach.

TUESDAY, 03 JUNE 2008
DANANG – RUINS OF MY SON – DANANG (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
MORNING:
After breakfast, there will be a transfer pick up from the hotel for a 40 km drive to Southwest of Hoi An. A half day trip, visiting the capital and religious centre of the former Champa Kingdom, My Son a UNESCO World Heritage site. A lush green valley surrounded by a dozens of red brick towers and sanctuaries dating from between the 7th and 13th centuries. Continue to Hoi An before noon.

Lunch at Fullmoon Restaurant along the Thu Bon River or similar.

AFTERNOON:
After lunch, return to Hoi An town cruising on the Thu Bon River from the restaurant. Upon arrival in Hoi An, enjoy a walking tour to discover the historic town which used to be a prosperous seaport city during the 16th to 18th centuries. Visit Hoi An’s colorful local market, Tan Ky old house, Fukien Assembly Hall, and the 400-year-old Japanese covered bridge. Travelers can also see local residents raise silkworms and produce silk for Hoi An's burgeoning textile industry. At the end of the afternoon, return to hotel.

WEDNESDAY,  04 JUNE 2008
HUE – HANOI – HALONG BAY    (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
MORNING:
After your breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport and flight from Danang to Hanoi by VN 310, departure from Hue at 08:10hr and arrival in Hanoi at 9:20hr.

On arrival to Nai Bai airport, Asian Trails tour guide will welcome and transfer you directly to Halong bay, 180 km from Hanoi.
12:30 Arrive at Halong Public Port. Welcome by Jasmine staff and board the shuttle boat. Welcome drink on board.
13:00 - 14:30  Lunch is served while cruising through BAI TU LONG Bay
16:00 You can enjoy some activity as trekking or swimming at SOI SIM Island
17:15  Cruising to visit HANG DOI water tunnel with rowing boat
18:30  Docking for overnight
19:30 Diner is served on board. Overnight

 

THURSDAY, 05 JUNE 2008
HALONG BAY – HANOI    (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
06:30  Experience traditional Sunrise Taichi on sundeck.
Coffee or tea is served on  board.
08:00 Visit the splendid SUNG SOT grotto
09:00 Buffet breakfast is served while cruising back to the pier
10:00 Check out the luggage
11:00  Arrive at the pier
GateThere, you will find your bus for the transfer back to Hanoi. Enjoy your late lunch at the famous Bobby Chinn Restaurant in Hanoi.

AFTERNOON:
Visit of Temple of Literature and enjoy a Cyclo tour in the Old quarters of Hanoi. Arrive at the Hoan Kiem lake at the end of the tour, and visit the Ngoc Son Temple. Then, transfer to your hotel and check in.

Your Farewell Dinner will be served at your hotel.
Overnight at Sheraton Hanoi (Run of house).
 
FRIDAY, 06 JUNE 2008
HANOI - DEPARTURE    (Breakfast)
MORNING:
After breakfast at the hotel, in the morning, time at disposal to explore the streets of Hanoi. You can do your last shopping if you wish.

Lunch at participant's own account.

AFTERNOON:
According to your flight times, transfer to airport (different departures).
Each participant finishing tour in Hanoi and not extending to Cambodia is requested to book his return flight from Hanoi and not Ho Chi Minh City to the next destination. This flight is NOT included in package price.
 

 

Extension to Cambodia (3 Days)

FRIDAY, 06 JUNE 2008
HANOI – SIEM REAP   (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
MORNING:
After breakfast at the hotel, time at participants disposal to explore the streets of Hanoi. You can do your last shopping if you wish.

Lunch at own account.

AFTERNOON:
Transfer to airport in the early afternoon for the fight Hanoi - Siem Reap VN 843 leaving at 15h10 and arrival at 17h05. (subject to availability).

After the immigration, welcome at the airport and transfer to your hotel.
Procedure of Express check out at airport on arrival: Upon arrival at Siem Reap International Airport, clients have to handover their passports classify with visa form fill + USD 20 p.p in cash (included in tour price) for visa fee + identity photo to the airport (in case you obtain visa on arrival) + immigration form (arrival and departure card) filled and hand it to immigration police who will be waiting for the clients. Clients will be able to check out immediately. The passport will be given back to the clients with the official stamp at the hotel.

SATURDAY, 07 JUNE 2008
SIEM REAP   (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
MORNING:
After your breakfast at the hotel, start the visit of the site with the ancient city of Angkor Thom, where 800 years age around one million people were living. Visit the majestic South Entrance Gate, the Bayon with uncountable stone faces of King Jayavarman VII, the Royal enclosure, the Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Continue by the visit of the Ta Prohm temple, where parts of the Tomb Raider movie were shot. Lunch at hotel. Time to recover in the room.

AFTERNOON:
Participants will have enough time to visit the majestic Hindu temple Angkor Wat with its over 60 meter high towers.

After a short break at the hotel, transfer to the Madame Butterfly restaurant to enjoy the Cambodian cuisine.

SUNDAY, 08 JUNE 2008
SIEM REAP – HO CHI MINH CITY  (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
MORNING:
After breakfast at the hotel, visit of the Banteay Srey temple. This tenth century Hindu temple is renowned for its intricate decoration carved in pinkish sandstone. 

Return to Siem Reap and have lunch in a local restaurant.

AFTERNOON:
Visit the National silk center in Pouk before leaving to airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Flight from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh City by VN 828 (subject to availability), departure at 18:20hr in Siem Reap and arrival at 19:20hr in Ho Chi Minh City.

Visa regulations:

Visas are required for all nationalities except Thai, Malaysian, Philippinos, Laotian, Singaporean, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, and Finish. If visas are to be obtained via Asian Trails, the following personal data must be supplied to us at least 2 (two) weeks before traveling to Vietnam:

  • Full name as per passport
  • Passport number, date of issue and expiry
  • Date and place of birth
  • Occupation and nationality

Visas can also be obtained upon arrival at international entry points to Vietnam, in which case the stamping fee will be quoted separately. We also require passport details in advance for visa stamp upon arrival. We will send a confirmation letter to show to airport staff at the departing airport, confirming that clients will get the visa on arrival. Visas can only be requested via us in connection with the booking of travel arrangements to Vietnam.

CAMBODIA:

Every visitor needs a visa to enter the Kingdom of Cambodia. Visas can be purchased upon arrival at Siem Reap & Phnom Penh International Airport and Poipet & Bavet land border.

Required are two passport photos, a filled out application form and USD 20.- in cash (included in tour price).  The passport must be still valid for six months after the arrival day.
